Courage of no

"...when I accepted that I was a decent, kind, and giving person - whether I said yes or no - I no longer had anything to prove." - Oprah
Silly Squirrel does not say "yes" to try to prove that he is a good, helpful and grateful son, friend or cousin. He says "no" courageously, assertively, calmly, and repeat his "no" two to three more times to get the message across to the other Squirrel. Toss the explanation  the other Squirrel will only see it as an excuse and find some way around it.

Oprah Squirrel is right.

Right and wrong

Read and hear everything with a grain of salt.

Every tactical move was genius when they work out. Yet, they could easily have been seen as strange, wrong and terrible mistakes when they don't.

The results will determine the nouns and adjectives of what other Squirrels shall utter about you.

Hence, don't take praises and criticisms to your Squirrel heart because Squirrels can be fickle.

So it begins

Once upon a time, a Serious Squirrel had an epiphany  she would like a friend, a very good friend to share her life with. She soon paid closer attention to the other Squirrels in the forest where she lives and one day, decided to say hi to a particularly interesting one. Upon closer inspection, this interesting Squirrel was not what she initially presumed but his friendly and sweet demeanor changed her mind and heart.
This is a story of how an outwardly Silly inwardly Wise Squirrel changed the life of a perpetually Serious Squirrel.

Together, these two Squirrels navigate through life's many peaks and valleys as well as the inevitable plateaus and mundanities.
